Blu-Ray Manufacturing
Customized Solutions for Blu-Ray Disc Manufacturing
A major Fortune Global 100 producer of Blu-Ray discs required customized plating equipment for their new manufacturing line. They turned to their long-time supplier Digital Matrix for their expertise in the field and ability to deliver on-time for a particularly aggressive project schedule.
Digital Matrix has deep experience in process control, particularly where fluid based systems are concerned. This includes precision electroplating and electroforming equipment where temperature, pH and flow stability are extremely critical to the pursuit of high yields. Blu-Ray discs are, because of the high density of data and small feature size, the latest challenge in optical disc manufacturing. CD and DVD manufacturing both went through similar curves with respect to the ability of the industry to produce the product at low cost with high yields. On this latest project, Digital Matrix provided specialized tooling to support and maintain the delicate silicon wafer master disc while achieving ultra-precise deposition. Software enhancements were introduced along with database modifications. Digitally controlled, state-of-the-art switch mode power supplies were added to insure the precise current control and reliability.

| Green Building TechnologySolar Tracking for Energy Efficiency
The 52-story New York Times building, completed at the end of 2007, incorporates many architectural and engineering innovations that support energy conservation and have made it a landmark in the emerging world of "Green Construction." Digital Matrix played an integral role in designing, implementing and providing ongoing support for the window management system comprised of a network of over 900 motorized window coverings and over 300 sensors. The specialized shades, manufactured by MechoShade, Inc., automatically adjust their deployment throughout the day to achieve optimal natural lighting and comfort levels. This allows the lighting system to operate more efficiently there by reducing energy usage.
Digital Matrix employed its core competencies in solar tracking, software design and integration, and communications protocols to deploy this project. Click here to contact Digital Matrix advanced systems design..
